who we are
We are a purpose-led, quality-driven real estate investor. We develop, own, and manage sustainable offices, homes and hotels across Europe. Places designed to bring people together.
Vastintly different
We don’t just develop buildings. We also own, manage, and nurture them. A principle which gives us a different perspective to many other developers. Normally, we oversee the whole process. From land acquisition, project planning, construction to day-to-day operations. Our active long-term ownership enables us to infuse our values and quality standards from the ground up. It also creates a feedback loop which allows us to constantly learn and improve.
Our foundation
Vastint was formed in the Netherlands in 1998 but the foundation was laid in 1943 in Älmhult, in the south of Sweden, when IKEA was founded. By way of our owner, Interogo Holding, we share a heritage with Inter IKEA. The daily operation of Vastint has no connection to the IKEA brand or stores, however the heritage is evident in our values and our culture.
Built on purpose
Our goal is to create long-term value through property investment to support our owner Interogo Holding. Inspired by Ingvar Kamprad’s vision – to create a better everyday life for the many people – Interogo Holding’s core duty is to secure financial strength and maintain reserves required to safeguard the independence and longevity of the IKEA Concept.

Caring for people and planet
We want to be a force for positive change. We have the possibility and resources to make a significant, lasting impact today and for future generations. We choose improvement within our investments and operations today, rather than perfection tomorrow. This is a never-ending job for every one of us.
Cost-consciousness
We challenge ourselves and others to make more from less without compromising. Within our own operations, some of us can influence the big costs, and all of us can influence the many small costs. At the same time, we see things in the long term, knowing that low costs may also be achieved by making big and bold investments.
Simplicity
A simple, straightforward and down-to-earth approach is part of our heritage. We are informal, pragmatic, efficient and avoid status symbols like fancy titles. We strive to avoid bureaucracy and complicated solutions by using common sense.
Renew and improve
We are constantly looking for new and better ways forward. Whatever we are doing today, we can do better tomorrow. Finding better ways and solving almost impossible challenges is part of our success and a source of inspiration.
Different with a meaning
We are not like other investment groups, and we don’t want to be. We think independently, question existing solutions, experiment and dare to make mistakes – always for a good reason.

It is a privilege to have responsibility, and it takes courage and leadership to give it. Both are ways to grow and a source of energy for those who dare. We are accountable and this means taking ownership and that we honestly admit, correct, learn and grow from our mistakes.

To lead by example is to always act and stand up for our values. It is a mission for every one of us, regardless of our position. We see leadership as action, not as a position. No method is more effective than a good example.
